The two installers arrived on time and quickly set up their equipment. They also emptied all the 20 years of stuff which had accumulated in my attic. They sprayed and cleaned up in good time. I was impressed with their patience, stamina and technique. The finished insulation is clean and foamed tightly into every crevice. The only down-side of their stay was the noise and pollution of their big diesel-powered pump which was the king-pin of their system. All-in-all a very admirable process.

Cosy Home men did a really good job in our loft by spraying foam into our roof and they were 2 very nice men who did it. It was also left very clean after they finished.

Foam spray in loft space : Synthesia Technology. Product is very good. Two workers were good and careful to lay sheets on my hall, stairs and landing outside my loft. Nothing was broken. But : Lots of drops of sprayed liquid foam left behind on my loft floorboard insulation that I am having to clean up. Company policy appears to be to not supply sheets to the spray personnel to protect my insulation materials. I received a vague sort of promise from the Oxford office that I would get a clear-up 'when another team is in the area'. I await that level of help..........

Spray foam installation The salesman came promptly and fully explained the process. The price quoted seemed reasonable. The installation team were also on site at the time stated. They were friendly and explained everything that needed to be done. Everything was done as promised and they cleaned up afterwards. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to others.

Spray Foam Insulation FAQs

What is commercial spray foam insulation?
– Commercial spray foam insulation is a type of insulation material that is applied as a liquid and then expands to fill and seal gaps, cracks, and voids in commercial buildings. It provides an effective thermal and air barrier, helping to improve energy efficiency.

What are the benefits of using spray foam insulation in commercial buildings?
– Spray foam insulation offers several benefits, including superior insulation properties, air sealing, moisture resistance, and long-term energy savings. It can also improve indoor air quality by reducing the infiltration of allergens and pollutants.

How does spray foam insulation work?
– Spray foam insulation is applied as a liquid mixture of two components: polyol resin and isocyanate. When these components are mixed and sprayed onto surfaces, they react and expand to create a foam that adheres to the substrate, filling gaps and forming an airtight seal.

What types of spray foam insulation are available for commercial use?
– There are two main types: open-cell and closed-cell spray foam insulation. Open-cell foam is less dense and has a lower R-value but is often used for soundproofing and interior applications. Closed-cell foam is denser, has a higher R-value, and is often used for exterior insulation and in areas prone to moisture.

How does spray foam insulation compare to other insulation materials?
– Spray foam insulation typically has a higher R-value (thermal resistance) per inch compared to traditional insulation materials like fiberglass or cellulose. It also provides superior air sealing and can be more effective in hard-to-reach areas.

Is spray foam insulation environmentally friendly?
– Modern spray foam formulations are generally environmentally friendly and have low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions. They can contribute to energy savings and reduce a building’s carbon footprint by improving energy efficiency.

What are the cost considerations for commercial spray foam insulation?
– The cost of spray foam insulation can vary depending on factors such as building size, location, and the type of foam used. While it may have a higher upfront cost compared to some traditional insulation materials, its long-term energy savings can offset this initial investment.

Can spray foam insulation help with noise reduction in commercial buildings?
– Yes, open-cell spray foam insulation is effective at reducing noise transmission. It can be used in walls, ceilings, and floors to provide sound insulation and create a quieter indoor environment.

Is spray foam insulation resistant to mold and moisture?
– Closed-cell spray foam insulation is resistant to moisture and can act as a moisture barrier. It helps prevent condensation and inhibits mold growth when properly installed.

How long does spray foam insulation last in commercial buildings?
– When installed correctly, spray foam insulation can last the lifetime of the building without significant degradation in performance.
